      Dr.Anchit Modi

      Associate Professor

      Department of Basics Sciences

      IITM, IES University, Bhopal

Dr. Anchit Modi received his Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Physics from Barkatullah University, Bhopal, India, in 2018. He also served as a Post-doctoral fellow from 2018 to 2022 before joining Barkatullah University as faculty. Currently, he holds the position of Associate Professor at IES University, Bhopal. Dr. Modi has been recognized with various national fellowships, including UGC-JRF, UGC-BSR-JRF/SRF, DST – Research Associate (III), and CSIR-Research Associate (I). Notably, he received the Best Poster Presentation award in DAE-SSPS in 2015.

His primary research interests lie in materials synthesis using different techniques such as Solid State Reaction, sol-gel, co-precipitation, and Arc melting, to produce polycrystalline and nanostructured multifunctional oxides and intermetallic compounds. Dr. Modi is actively exploring the diverse physical properties (structural, electrical, thermal, magnetic, optical, and thermoelectricity) of novel materials, including CMR, Multiferroic, Cobaltate, Ortho Vandates, Serates, Ferrites, and ruthenocuprates oxides, as well as intermetallic compounds. Additionally, he is engaged in theoretical investigations utilizing Density Functional Theory (DFT).

With an impressive track record, Dr. Modi has published over 50 research papers in esteemed journals with a substantial impact factor, accumulating more than 318 citations and 3 book chapter with 5 Indian Patent. His i10-index stands at 11, alongside an H-Index of 12. He has actively participated in 25 National/International conferences and symposia.

He has also delivered many invited talks and chaired the session in National/International conferences/symposia.  As an active member of scientific societies, he is associated with the Neutron Scattering Society and the Magnetic Society of India. He is appointed as editorial board member of Advances in Materials (Science publishing Group). He served as a repeated scientific reviewer for several international journals.
